Location: Higher Folds Community Centre
Hours: Part Time (16 hours plus flexible)
Duration: 9 months, with the potential for extension and more hours.
Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant and nurturing team. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will provide high-quality care and education for children, ensuring their safety, development, and happiness in a stimulating and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare & Development:
- Support the physical, emotional, and educational needs of children aged 12 months – 4 years.
- Plan and implement engaging activities and learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Monitor and document children’s progress and milestones, maintaining accurate records.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure the environment is safe, clean, and hygienic at all times.
- Follow safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the welfare of all children.
- Administer first aid when necessary (training provided if needed).
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of children’s development and attendance.
- Observe and report for key children where required.
Compliance:
- Adhere to nursery policies, procedures and statutory requirements, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with colleagues to create a welcoming and inclusive setting.
- Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates on their child’s progress.
- Attend team meetings and participate in staff training and development sessions.
- General Duties:
- Assist with meal times, nappy changes, and other routine care tasks.
- Maintain the nursery’s resources, ensuring toys and materials are in good condition.
- Contribute to the overall smooth running of the nursery.

Qualifications & Experience
- Essential:
- Level 3 Diploma in Childcare or equivalent (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or T Level).
- Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
- Desirable:
- Paediatric First Aid certification.
- Experience in a nursery, preschool, or childcare setting.
- Additional training in safeguarding or special educational needs (SEN).
